Building a Campfire
- Select a site 8′ from combustibles. Use rocks or logs to create a perimeter.
- Lay kindling in layers over crumpled paper. Light the paper to start the fire.
- Add firewood when kindling is ablaze. Distribute evenly.
- Grade coals into high, medium, and low levels for cooking.
- Extinguish fire thoroughly with water before leaving.
