Stress Support Balls are herbal energy balls designed to support the body during stress. They combine adaptogenic herbs with nourishing ingredients for a balanced, long-term stress response. Key herbs include ashwagandha (supports nervous exhaustion), shatavri (restores energy), eleuthero (boosts immunity), and licorice (balances the body). These are blended with tahini, almond butter, honey, almonds, and spices to create a pliable dough.
Ingredients
- 1 cup tahini
- 1/3 cup almond butter
- ½ cup honey
- ½ cup chopped almonds
- ½ cup ashwagandha powder
- ½ cup shatavri powder
- ½ cup eleuthero powder
- ¼ cup licorice powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- ½ tsp cardamom
- ½ cup cocoa nibs (or chocolate chips)
- 1 cup shredded coconut
Instructions
- Combine all powdered herbs and spices in a mixing bowl.
- Warm nut butters and honey gently over low heat, stirring constantly until blended (do not cook).
- Mix in chopped almonds, then add the herbal powder mixture to form a pliable dough.
- Cool the mixture slightly, then fold in cocoa nibs.
- Roll the dough into 1-tablespoon-sized balls and coat each with shredded coconut.
- Store the balls in airtight containers in the fridge. Consume 1–3 balls daily as needed.
Notes: This recipe provides a portable, nourishing way to manage stress through herbal adaptogens and healthy fats. The blend is ideal for those experiencing energy depletion or stress-related fatigue. Avoid use for individuals with excess energy states, and use licorice cautiously, especially for those with hypertension. Adaptogens are gentle and suitable for long-term use, particularly for individuals in a ‘deficient state’ (low energy, fatigue, weakened immunity).
